In the highly anticipated episode of Solo Leveling Season 2, “We Need a Hero” the story is getting intense as the Jeju Island Raid starts. Premiering on March 9, 2025 at 12 AM JST this episode covers chapters 92-96 of the manhwa and we’ll see some intense action and a new big threat.
The Duel: Jinwoo vs. Goto Ryuji
The episode starts with a battle between Jinwoo and Goto Ryuji, in the middle of a Korean-Japanese Hunter match. The atmosphere is tense as both sides are preparing to face each other. For Korea we have Yoonho, Dongwook, Hae-in, Tae-gyu and for Japan we have Tanaka, Hoshino, Kumamoto, Tawata. The stakes are high and both teams want to prove themselves.
As the fight begins Hae-in accidentally unleashes a ton of attacks on Kumamoto and Kumamoto retaliates fiercely. The situation escalates fast and both of them exchange blows. Just as Kumamoto is about to do a finishing blow, Jinwoo intervenes and shows off his speed and strength. He takes down Kumamoto with one hit and the Japanese Hunters are in shock and awe.

Goto Ryuji is curious but skeptical of Jinwoo’s abilities so he challenges him to a duel and questions his mage status. Jinwoo who is eager to test his skills after the Demon Castle battle accepts the challenge but tells Ryuji he has to fight at full power. Ryuji feeling insulted by Jinwoo’s confidence Ryuji goes all out and attacks aggressively but Jinwoo dodges all of them with ease, showing off his agility and combat skills.
Ryuji can’t hit so he gets more and more frustrated and manages to scratch Jinwoo’s face with a good hit. But Jinwoo immediately seizes Ryuji’s hand and shows his power and control. The two fighters are about to go all out and clashing when the other hunters interrupt, knowing they need to conserve their strength for the Jeju Island raid. The duel is left unresolved but Jinwoo’s reputation among the hunters grows.
Jinwoo's Reflection and the Raid Preparations
After the fight, Jinwoo takes a moment to think about the S-Rank Hunters. None of them including Ryuji can detect the shadow soldiers he has placed in their shadows. This means Jinwoo has the advantage.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Hunters are talking among themselves and they know of a Korean Hunter who is strong enough to surpass Ryuji. But they are surprised to find out that Jinwoo’s name is not in the list of participants for the raid. Back in Korea, Jong-in and Hae-in are worried about Jinwoo’s absence, while Yoonho mentions that Byung-gu is also missing from the lineup. But with 15 S-Rank Hunters, they have high hopes for the raid.
In a emotional moment, Jinwoo chooses his family over the raid and goes back home to be with them after years of being apart. This shows his character development and the weight of his responsibilities. He thinks about the sacrifices he made for his family and how important it is to be with them even in a world full of danger.
The Ant Queen and the Evolved Ant
As we move to Jeju Island, the ants come into focus. The ant queen is starving and worried about her colony’s survival. In a last ditch effort to strengthen her forces, she wishes for a powerful warrior to be born and her wish is granted with the birth of a new ant. This new ant is super strong and has abilities that will be a threat to the Hunters.

On the day of the raid, the Hunters gear up and exchange final words and strategies. The Japanese Hunters start their plan to lure the ants out of their den while the Korean Hunters get on a plane to take out the queen. As they approach the ant den, a swarm of flying ants come out but Jong-in burns them all with a fire spell and clears the path for the Hunters.
Entering the Ant Den
The episode builds up to the climax as the Korean Hunters enter the ant nest, the Japanese Hunters acting as bait to distract the ants. They send a jamming signal to disrupt the ants communication so the queen can’t call for help. Jong-in takes charge and blocks the queen’s escape route and leads his team deeper into the nest.
Inside the ant nest, the Korean Hunters find an egg chamber and an enormous already hatched egg. Yoonho tells his team to stay focused but the egg makes them worried about the new ant. The atmosphere is intense as they realize they’re not just dealing with ordinary ants, they are facing a new breed of stronger ants.
The Cliffhanger: A New Threat Emerges
As the episode ends the tension explodes. Just when the Hunters think they have the upper hand one of the Japanese Hunter teams runs into the newly evolved ant. In a total shocker the ant takes down their S-Rank Healer and the Hunters are in big trouble. The episode ends on a cliffhanger and we’re left wondering what’s to come next as the Hunters face an unexpected new enemy.
With more on the line than ever the fans are on the edge of their seats. The combination of intense battles, character development and the threat of the evolved ant make for a great story. As the Hunters prepare to face this new threat, the question is: will they be able to overcome the challenges that lie ahead, or will they fall victim to the very monsters they seek to defeat?
