Episode 11 Recap: It's Going to Get Even More Intense
Episode 11 titled “It's Going to Get Even More Intense” did not disappoint, it’s title lived up to its promise and everything changed in the Jeju Island Raid arc.
The Mysterious Force Unleashed
The episode started with Team Charlie facing the full terror of the mysterious force that’s been hunting Japanese Hunters throughout the raid. In an instant, Akari Shimizu was beheaded, leaving her teammates in shock. The attack was brutal and the members of Team Charlie were eliminated one by one, setting up the threat that would later face the Korean S-rank team.
The Battle Against the Ant Queen
Meanwhile, with the help of Hunter Park Yoonho’s enhanced vision, the Korean Hunter squad finally found the Ant Queen’s chamber. They approached with both confidence and caution and executed their battle plan to perfection. Kim Chul Byunggyu used his support magic to pump up the team’s mana and attack power while Ma Dongwook took the tank role and absorbed the Ant Queen’s attacks and maintained the defensive formation. Cha Haein took position and used her combat skills to get into striking position. At the right moment Byunggyu channeled a mana boost to Cha Haein and she struck the killing blow on the Ant Queen.

False Victory and Impending Doom
The defeat of the Ant Queen brings celebrations across Korea and people think the Jeju Island nightmare is over. The Korean Hunters relax their guard and think they are victorious—except for Park Yoonho who is still worried about the Ant Queen’s last words before she died.
His worries are proven to be right as the last words becomes a distress signal and every ant in the colony rushes towards their fallen queen. The Korean Hunters prepare for another wave of battle but a new and terrifying threat emerges—the mysterious force that’s been wiping out the Japanese Hunters during the raid.
The Black Ant Emerges
The mysterious force turned out to be a highly intelligent, humanoid black ant of unimaginable power. It consumed the remains of the Ant Queen—its own mother—before turning to the Korean Hunters.
What followed was a display of overwhelming power as the black ant launched a single attack and critically wounded Cha Haein, Choi Jongin and Ma Dongwook. When Byunggyu tried to heal Dongwook, the black ant turned to him and delivered what seemed to be a fatal blow by piercing his chest. Byunggyu tried to defend his fallen comrade and rushed in, but the black ant caught him in a chokehold.
Most disturbingly, the black ant showed not just power but intelligence, talking to Yoonho and asking about "the human king". It seemed to have a purpose beyond destruction.
The Fall of Japan's Strongest
The episode ended with the action moving to the edge of Jeju Island where Gotou Ryuji, the strongest S-rank Hunter in Japan and the rest of his team were going to evacuate under direct orders from the Japanese Hunter Association Chairman. Before they could get out they were ambushed by the black ant. Despite Gotou's reputation and previous displays of extreme confidence he looked scared by the ant's mana. In the final moments of the episode the black ant wrapped Gotou in what looked like a killing blow and took out Japan's number one Hunter with ease.
What to Expect in Episode 12
Based on the events of episode 11 and the title of the next episode "Are You The King of Humans" we can expect.
Sung Jinwoo's Arrival
Sung Jinwoo will finally arrive at Jeju Island drawn by the reports of multiple S-rank Hunters getting killed. His unique abilities and growing power will definitely make his encounter with the black ant the main story of this episode.
The Black Ant's True Purpose
Episode 12 will probably explore the black ant’s cryptic question about “The King of Humans” and maybe the black ant sees something special in Sung Jinwoo. This will probably reveal important information about Jinwoo’s abilities and how it fits in the bigger picture of the series.

Fate of the Fallen Hunters
The fate of several characters are still unknown after the cliffhanger of Episode 11, whether Gotou Ryuji survived, the condition of the injured Korean S-rank Hunters and if Byunggyu is still alive despite his serious wound.
Shadow Army Confrontation
Since the scale of the threat is so big, episode 12 might be the first time we see Sung Jinwoo fully deploying his shadow army and showing us how much he’s grown as the Shadow Monarch. The upcoming ep will be one of the biggest battles so far and will set a new standard for shonen anime action and will advance the plot on Sung Jinwoo’s role in the world. Expect lots of action, emotional stakes and revelations that will change the future of the series.
